Founded in 1880 in Horgen near Zurich and expanded in 1902 to include the Glarus factory, ag möbelfabrik horgenglarus is the oldest chair and table manufacturer in Switzerland and has been convincing in terms of design and quality for over 140 years. At the "Exposition internationale des Arts décoratifs" in Paris, Le Corbusier presented chairs made by horgenglarus for his "Pavillon de l'Esprit Nouveau" as representative examples of a contemporary and forward-looking concept of home decor.
This basic innovative orientation has not changed to this day, and horgenglarus still focuses on the characteristic combination of form and function. The company transfers the classic ideals of the "New Simplicity" into the 21st century, combining traditional know-how and manual processing techniques with state-of-the-art, CNC-controlled production facilities.
