Originally a plumber's shop in 1922, Lehni developed into a furniture store in the 1970s and moved into the factory building designed by Ernst Gisel in 1975. The industrial production was pushed forward and in collaboration with Andreas Christen, important designs were created, such as the Lehni Bed 1 and the wardrobe. An important role was also played by the collaboration with Donald Judd, who had his furniture objects manufactured at Lehni from 1984 onwards and still produces them today. Through constant continuity and innovations, Lehni always brings important designs into the series.
